Prior to design development, Biesse America contracted Refresco, PLLC to conduct a thorough energy and water usage study to provide guidance when selecting systems to be installed at their new Headquarters Facility located in Charlotte, NC.
Energy analyses revealed a potential 25% energy savings (when compared to LEED baseline) with innovative strategies such as water-cooled, self-contained air handling systems, high-performance lighting systems, and low-flow plumbing fixtures.
The systems recommended provide a 4.7 year payback, ensuring Biesse’s financial commitment to high-performance systems also generates monetary savings over the life of the facility.
Neighboring Concepts contracted Refresco, PLLC to provide an Energy/Economic Evaluation and Conceptual Design Package for the adaptive reuse of the abandoned Caraustar Mill Facility. Refresco examined various strategies for HVAC, plumbing, and lighting systems to determine the most cost effective way to transform a turn-of-the-century paper mill into a LEED certified mixed-use facility.
Recommended strategies will provide enhanced occupant comfort and control while minimizing life-cycle costs of the facility.
Refresco was contracted to provide a comprehensive energy analysis and condition assessment for the major mechanical, lighting, and plumbing systems present at the Brevard Street Facility, located in Charlotte, NC.
Energy analyses revealed considerable energy savings possible from a more effective time-scheduling and off-hour control scheme for major mechanical systems. Additional energy savings were identified from a rebalancing of the outdoor air provided to the space (currently over-ventilated). The relocation of key thermostats was suggested to provide better occupant comfort and control.
Condition assessments revealed equipment in need or replacement, and provided the county a prioritized list to help plan their capital expenditures in the future.
The Wallace H. Kuralt Centre, originally constructed in 1974, houses the Mecklenburg County Division of Social Services. Refresco was contracted to provide a comprehensive energy analysis and condition assessment for the major mechanical, lighting, and plumbing systems.
Energy analyses revealed considerable energy savings possible from an extension of the existing DDC system to allow more effective means of time-scheduling and off-hour control of major mechanical systems. Improvements to the existing demand controlled ventilation system were suggested to provide better indoor air quality conditions for occupants.
Condition assessments revealed equipment in need or replacement, and provided the county a prioritized list to help plan their capital expenditures in the future.
Refresco was contracted to provide a comprehensive energy analysis and condition assessment for the major mechanical, lighting, and plumbing systems present at the Fighting Back Facility, located in Charlotte, NC.
Energy analyses revealed considerable energy savings possible from a more effective time-scheduling and off-hour control scheme for major mechanical systems.
Condition assessments revealed equipment in need of replacement, and provided the county a prioritized list to help plan their capital expenditures in the future.
Refresco was contracted to provide a comprehensive energy analysis and condition assessment for the major mechanical, lighting, and plumbing systems present at the Project Access Facility, located in Charlotte, NC.
Energy analyses revealed considerable energy savings possible from a more effective time-scheduling and off-hour control scheme for major mechanical systems. Additionally, deficiencies in outside air delivery were identified and strategies for improvement were addressed.
Condition assessments revealed equipment in need of replacement, and provided the county a prioritized list to help plan their capital expenditures in the future.
Refresco was contracted to provide a comprehensive energy analysis and condition assessment for the major mechanical, lighting, and plumbing systems present at the Lakeview Facility, located in Charlotte, NC.
Energy analyses revealed considerable energy savings possible from a more effective time-scheduling and off-hour control scheme for major mechanical systems. Additionally, deficiencies in outside air delivery and exhaust to the classrooms were identified and strategies for improvement were discussed.
Condition assessments revealed equipment in need of replacement, and provided the county a prioritized list to help plan their capital expenditures in the future.
The YMCA of Greater Charlotte contracted Refresco to conduct a study of the Natatorium lighting systems throughout the system. Motivation for the study resulted from a insurance requirement of 50 FC at the pool surface. Light level measurements were taken and photometric analyses were conducted to determine ideal lighting solutions for each branch.
